Watercolor Retreat Supplies

If you aren't familiar with watercolor supplies, here's a list of your instructors' recommendations. If you already have your own kit/supplies, feel free to bring it.

• 140lb cold pressed paper (Good brands- Arches, Fabriano, Saunders Waterford. Highly recommend Arches 140lb cold pressed block 12x16)

• Brushes- water media brushes:

1. Sky/wash brush- a 1.5-2.5" flat. Hake brush works well

2. Large mop brush #3 or large round #10 or #12

3. Rigger or small round #2 0r #3

4. Small flat 1/2 inch 

• Paint Tubes (Professional Grade, Brands- Winsor & Newton, M. Graham, Daniel Smith)​ 

Simple Palette

1. Ultramarine Blue

2. Alizarin Crimson

3. Any Yellow

Expanded Palette:

1. Ultramarine Blue​

2. Manganese/Ceruleun Blue/Winsor Blue

3. Phthalo Blue 

4. Alizarin Crimson 

5. Cadmium Red or Winsor Red

6. Any Pure Yellow i.e. Azo Yellow, Bismuth Yellow, Cadmium Yellow, Winsor Yellow, Hansa Yellow

7. Burnt Umber

8. Burnt Sienna

9. ​Additional: Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Gamboge, Quinacradone Gold, White Gouache or Titanium White
